My visit to Sandgate Childcare Centre

I enjoyed visiting the Sandgate Childcare Centre last week. I spoke to the Kingfisher (pre prep) room about making new friends at school and manners. Ah, friends and manners – have one and you will have the other. I had a great time at my last visit of the year.Kingfisher RoomKingfisher room visit - Max & GeorgeTalking to the KingfishersKingfisher room visit funHanding out stickers

Last Max & George reading of the year

Today I am doing a reading of Max & George at the wonderful Sandgate Childcare Centre. I will be talking to the pre-prep kids about going to school next year and making new friends. I hope to post some photos eventually.

Winding down 2013

It has been a while since I posted something – it is getting to that time of year! 2013 has been a great year for me because it is the year that Max & George was published. For that reason, 2013 will always be a special year for me. I had my book launch at Riverbend Books in April plus a few school visits and library readings, which were great fun. I also had news that my book will be published in South Korea and France. I hope that I can bring some good news here about new books, school visits and readings soon! But as the year winds down, I would like to thank everyone who has read or bought Max & George. I hope that it has brought a little optimism into the lives of those who read it. No matter where you go in life, you will always find a friend. This was the underlying message in the book and I truly believe that to be true. Happy 2013 everyone – here’s to a great 2014!

Max & George say ‘bonjour France’!

I received my second overseas offer today! Max & George will, eventually, be published in France! Clearly I will need to go there to do a book tour……!

In my dreams.

A copy of Max & George is on its way to HRH Prince George! … and other things …

Today I sent a signed copy of Max & George to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for the royal family’s newest addition, HRH Prince George Alexander Louis. Wouldn’t it be super cool if they responded with a photo of the family reading the book?!

Also, it is August, which is the month when the short list for the Queensland Literary Awards is announced! It would be so wonderful if Max & George was even shortlisted (it would be like an award in itself!) – I am keeping my fingers and toes and everything else crossed. Will keep this post posted.
